58 an hour 5 days ago 5 days ago 5 days ago Under the direction of the Director of Ambulatory Medical Informatics, the Ambulatory Helpdesk Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in physician practices.
The Ambulatory Helpdesk Coordinator will understand and support key physicians and clinical staff workflow while triaging critical issues effecting system functionality.
If unable to resolve an issue, this position escalates and assigns tickets to System Specialists as needed following a fixed rotation procedure.
The Ambulatory Helpdesk Coordinator serves as a central point to receive requests, capture information, and dispatch appropriate personnel and follow-up for the Epic Systems Department.
Serves as the point of contact for ambulatory Epic support.
Serves a key role in supporting the EMR system by mastering the technical and operational components of the system in order to educate end users and resolve or triage support calls and tickets from all ambulatory end users.
Able to diagnose and troubleshoot PC hardware, software and peripheral technical issues.
Utilizes information recorded in the help desk ticketing system to manage and process assigned tickets.
Complete updates and close tasks after completion of each service request.
Create new tickets as needed or directed.
Analyze, review, monitor, and report on the performance of existing and future data systems and applications.
Assists in testing system upgrades and coordinating with Epic or affiliated software vendors.
Understand simple ambulatory build, workflow, training manuals and an overall software application training curriculum for end-users of all levels.
Provide data analysis and reporting from helpdesk ticketing system as requested.
Provides on-call support as needed.
Participate in organizational committees and initiatives related to Epic or associated software programs.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate's Degree in a computer related field or a minimum of three (3) years' experience in an IT Systems Helpdesk role required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Licensure:
None.
Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year experience in the computing field and/or Help Desk required.
Working knowledge and experience with PC hardware, software, peripherals, as well as Help Desk procedures and effective troubleshooting required.
One to two years' experience within a healthcare related clinical environment and working knowledge of the process and delivery of patient care services in an ambulatory care facility and office practice environment preferred.
Understanding of the supporting activities in clinical services, ancillary departments, financial services, medical records, utilization review, quality assurance, the admitting/registration functions, and billing and collections preferred.
The hourly rate for this position is $33.
