Our client is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team in Salinas, CA.
As Assistant Controller, you will
Work in collaboration with the Controller to develop, interpret, coordinate, and administer policies for finance, accounting, insurance, financial and Health Care system accounting functions, internal controls and audits.
Prepare financial reports and statements.
Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations on Medicare requirements and assist with the completion of the Medicare cost report.
Coordinate reimbursements, budget, patient accounting, medical records, admitting and general accounting, which includes general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and cashiering.
Manage communications with external auditors during the auditing process.
Requirements for Assistant Controller:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters degree in Accounting or Finance is highly desired.
Licensed CPA preferred.
Must have 5
years of experience as an Assistant Controller or Controller for a large acute care for-profit hospital.
Knowledge of Medicare/MediCal regulations required.
Must have experience with financial statement analysis and preparation.
Ability to work effectively with cross-function teams, multi-tasking, and a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, and ability to analyze data are essential.
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite to include, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
